Your questions
Welcome, and thanks in advance for your thoughts. As we wrote you, please take a look at this initial list of questions and use the Comments at the bottom of the page to suggest any additional ones. No question is too small or too detailed, so don’t be shy. (If you’d like a bit of context for some of these questions, see the updated About page at the top of the site.)
By Monday evening we want to have all of these questions – and any others you may suggest between now and Sunday – answered to your satisfaction. We’ll keep updating this list here, and then we’ll start answering these Qs on a separate document, which we’ll share for your feedback as we go. Thank you!

Please note that we’ll keep the numbering unchanged for every question so that you can more easily see any new ones when you come back, and so that we can refer to them by number later. (This may mean that as we add more questions and reorganize the categories, the numbers will no longer be in straight order at some point.)

Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

My long detailed question is:
Are you going to have available on your website a listing under each one of the 3Qs. (ie.) 3Q#1 – What do you want to do? Listing – (1) Paint an apt. (2) Set up a tenant’s association (3) Put together a porfolio, etc.
3Q#2 – Why haven’t you done it? Listing – (1) I’m not good at asking for help (2) I don’t know where to start (3) I do not have a space to meet, etc.
3Q#3 – What would help you to do it? Listing – (1) a few volunteers (2) a great organizer (3) a make-up artist (4) a tripod, etc.
Hi Terry (and everyone) – Yes! That’s exactly the kind of stuff we are thinking about and planning. For this to work well, Idealist.org – the site – needs to act like a “virtual Connector” so that what happens on the site and what takes place out in the community is complementary and mutually reinforcing. Thanks, and have a good weekend!
Do you think alternative healing could be used in some way as part of the volunteer work?
I may want to be a connector in my work (public interest/non-profit) office environment. What are the special considerations, if any, for this type of connector effort? Enlisting fellow workmates versus community volunteers? Maybe privacy or confidentiality issues?
I would like to work with older people who have retired and don’t know about the many activities available for them. How do we reach them?
